This one day workshop has been designed to explore the development and maintenance of psychological trauma within the Northern Ireland context of the ‘Troubles’. This one day workshop will provide an overview of theories of trauma within the family, the influence of trauma on attachment styles and explore the evidence base for systemic work and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Who is this workshop suitable for?
This one day workshop would be of interest to those working with traumatised individuals and families and those working within conflict and post-conflict contexts.
Workshop aims
On completion of the workshop participants will be;
- Students will be aware of the influence of culture and context on a system’s ability to manage trauma and develop resilience
- Students will develop an awareness of treatment approaches for systemic work and PTSD
