PIP Awareness for people with Hearing Loss

Hearing Link

About our session
The event will start with a networking lunch at 1pm.
Hearing Link staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you might have related to hearing loss, or can give more information about the support
Hearing Link offers across Northern Ireland. There will also be a chance for participants to test different types assistive listening equipment that supports hearing loss.
The training session will begin at 2pm, delivered by a tutor from Advice NI.
It will provide participants with an overview of both parts of PIP, how the benefit is claimed and assessed, how to best prepare to complete an application and how to support someone through the process. There will also be crucial information on the reform to non-means tested benefits in a generation. The information will be presented in a clear, concise manner, with great supporting material.
A hearing loop will be available and communication support in the form of a Speech-to Text-Reporter is provided for the whole session.
The session will be held at the Girdwood Community Hub, 10 Girdwood Avenue, Belfast, Antrim BT14 6EG.
Ample parking is available on site.
