Omagh Sleep Out | 30th Nov '18

Shelter NI

In SLATE we support young people aged 16-25, providing a free and confidential service for young people seeking assistance and advice, as well as supporting living accommodation and floating support services to young adults at risk of homelessness in Omagh.
Every day across Northern Ireland 50 families and individuals present as homeless.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
We are taking to the streets for the night not only in solidarity with people who are roofless, but also to render visible the more hidden forms of homelessness: those living in temporary accommodation such as a hostel or bed and breakfast; ‘sofa-surfing’; those at risk of violence if they remain in their homes; people living in poor conditions that are damaging to their health; or those living in homes unsuitable for them.
By sleeping out for the night we hope to raise vital funds to continue combating homelessness and poor housing conditions and provide housing services and advice throughout GABLE and SLATE projects which last financial year helped approximately 550 people.
