The Children's Law Centre is reaching out to the voluntary and statutory sectors in this quarter and has reduced its training by as much as 40% to support everyone to help children and young people claim their rights.
In Northern Ireland the deprivation of liberty safeguards under the act are extending beyond health and social care. It is an imperative that anyone who works with someone who lacks capacity and who may be having their liberty deprived understands the protocols surrounding DOLS so they can feel secure they are operating in a rights-based way both for their own protection and for the protection of those they work with.
This course is for health and social care professionals, those working in residential, secure and community care, special needs, legal advisors – indeed anyone who comes into contact with children and young people with disabilities, mental health problems and mental capacity problems.
