From IVF to Adoption

For those coming into the adoption process it might be difficult to understand why an adoption agency would want to know about past fertility treatment. Or how and why that might impact the agency's initial decision-making process, even temporarily.

Today we will be talking to social workers, working in adoption, about why we ask what we ask - and an adopter who came through her own IVF journey before coming to adoption.

We will be reflecting on when adoption seemed like a possibility for our guest speaker, Emma, what that transition felt like and how she processed the loss of biological parenting first.
