Inspirational Speaker Event with Real Living Wage Foundation - online event

Advice NI
Phoebe will talk about the real living wage and the benefits it can bring to both employees and employers. The real living wage (RLW) is a rate of pay based on the cost of living and provides a wage that meets the everyday needs of employees. It is paid voluntarily by almost 9,000 businesses across the UK. The RLW is not the same as the government’s minimum wage rate. The minimum wage is not calculated according to the cost of living and is, therefore, lower than what people need to afford a decent standard of living.
Phoebe Devenish is Programmes Officer leading on RLW accreditations in NI and supports the Living Wage Places Scheme. Phoebe has previous experience in both the charity and research sectors working with organisations such as North Wales Food Poverty Alliance and ADNODD Research Group where she worked on research focusing on social justice, inequality, and social mobility within the UK. Phoebe holds a BSc Geography degree with her final research project focussing on the increasing role of the third sector and in-work poverty across the UK.
