“The knowledge, personal abilities and technical skills you need to be an effective manager”  - Institute of Leadership and Management

This is a three day training programme.

Who is it for? New and aspiring team leaders and middle managers looking to advance their knowledge and skills to gain a nationally recognised qualification which recognises and reflects their experience and professional development.

How do you achieve the award? There are two units totalling 7 credits and two assignments to complete.

  • Module One: Planning and Leading a Complex Team Activity – 4 credits:  16 February from 10am - 12.30pm
  • Module two: Developing a culture to support Innovation and Improvement – 3 credits:  23 February from 10am - 12.30pm
  • Presentation of projects on 23 March from 10am - 12.30pm

The first module covers the planning, development and communication of an innovative project, and the second will detail the skills and techniques used by managers to innovate, deliver and effectively review the project.  You will work through a project or activity you are changing, currently planning, or currently delivering and present your project and leadership development to your peers on the final day.

Support to complete your assignments is available throughout the programme.

Why should I do it? This qualification suits anyone who manages a project or someone who anticipates a change or opportunity in their role to communicate with team members, plan an activity, take on or improve in the leadership role.  It is also for anyone who needs to think and introduce or develop innovation  and communicating change and improvement in the workplace.  If you have completed the Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management this qualification will build on those skills and reflect the growing responsibilities of a leadership role.
