GOLD DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD RESIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY

Belfast activity Centre will be running a 5 day GOLD residential at Ardaluin house in Newcastle during the February 2024 mid-term holidays.
We are currently offering up to 24 spaces on our program and we are now open for people to register their interest.
Please note that we will not be taking payments or sending confirmations until we have a minimum of 12 applicants, about two weeks before the start date, in order for this course to run. This program is suitable for anybody who would be interested in doing a residential stay but especially so for participants doing the GOLD duke of Edinburgh award.
Who can do this: This program is open to all young people and is compatible with the Duke of Edinburgh GOLD Residential Award section
Dates: From Monday 12th February 2024 until Friday 16th February 2024 (times confirmed upon booking)
Course details: 5 Day Residential Course at Ardaluin House, Newcastle, County Down
This all – inclusive package includes staying overnight inside Ardaluin House for 4 nights ( bed linen included) , all meals and all activities. Ensuite Dorm room accommodation – max 12 participants in 1 dorm room.
Participants will experience a range of exciting, challenging and fun outdoor activities.
Activities include: Climbing ( tree climbing / quarry climbing) , Archery, Mourne walks, Bushcraft, Orienteering, Wet bouldering ( depending on weather conditions), Canoeing etc,..
The course provides the opportunity to meet new people in an unfamiliar environment. You will be living and working with others, building new relationships and working as part of a team.
Note that participants doing the GOLD-Duke of Edinburgh’s Award will need to be aware that the Duke of Edinburgh rules recommend that ‘only a small minority of those taking part should be known to the participant’. (ie participants should only know up to 3 other people on the same course).
Cost: £375 (payments can be made in instalments if requested)
The Programme includes: Accommodation in dorm rooms at Ardaluin House (max 12 per dorm) + bed linen for 4 nights
