Carla Frazer – Director of Employability and Partnerships, Stepping Stones NI

Carla Frazer is the Director of Employability and Partnerships at Stepping Stones NI, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering individuals with learning disabilities and barriers to employment. With over six years of leadership experience within the organisation, Carla has played a pivotal role in establishing strategic partnerships, driving sustainable growth, and delivering impactful employability programmes.

A graduate of Ulster University with a degree in English and Journalism and a postgraduate qualification in Business Management, Carla has held key roles in renowned organisations such as the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, The Irish News, and The Belfast Telegraph. Her diverse career also includes invaluable international experience gained during her time in New Zealand.

Carla’s passion for creating opportunities and her collaborative approach has helped Stepping Stones NI expand its services, including six social enterprises that provide realistic training platforms for people with disabilities. With her focus on communication, strategic growth, and innovative solutions, Carla continues to champion inclusivity and help individuals thrive in employment.

Julie Hoey, Co-founder of Sonas Co-op

Julie Hoey is a passionate advocate for community-driven, sustainable business models and a co-founder of Sonas Co-op, Lisburn’s first zero-waste refill store, café, and event space.

With a deep commitment to sustainability, local food networks, and cooperative values, Julie played a key role in bringing Sonas to life in Spring 2023, alongside a group of like-minded individuals dedicated to creating a hub for ethical shopping, food education, and community engagement.

Julie believes in reconnecting people with food production, strengthening local supply chains, and fostering an inclusive space where skills, ideas, and resources can be shared. She champions the co-operative model as a way of doing business that is more equitable, community-focused, and collaborative.

At this event, Julie will share her social enterprise journey, discussing the challenges and rewards of building a co-op, the power of collective effort, and the importance of sustainability, localism, and social impact in business.

Tina Calder – Excalibur Press

This event will be hosted by Tina Calder, a seasoned marketing strategist, mentor, and AI trainer, specialising in helping businesses craft compelling messages, enhance their brand visibility, and drive measurable results. As the founder and Chief Vision Officer of Excalibur Press, she has extensive experience mentoring entrepreneurs and organisations.

As a business mentor and delivery agent for the Go Succeed in the Community Tina is passionate about guiding entrepreneurs to maximise their marketing and business potential.

Tina’s career began 30 years ago in journalism and media, where she gained invaluable insights into audience engagement and media strategy.
