Dementia Friendly East Belfast is offering Free Interactive Dementia Training at the RADAR Centre on Wednesday 17th April at 2pm. The training takes participants to a range of settings to learn how small changes can make a big difference. Training is delivered by a range of agencies including Alzheimer's Society and Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.

Join Dementia Friendly East Belfast for this stimulating and informative Interactive Dementia Friendly training at the wonderful RADAR Centre.  Participants are taken to five different simulated locations: a house; a shop; a bus; a library; and a bank.  Everyone learns how small changes can make a big difference for people living with dementia. There is also a presentation on what dementia is, and resources to take home.

Since 2017 over 400 people have taken this training.  Previous feedback includes:  "I have learned that people with dementia should be treated with respect and dignity as they are still the same people.” “Fantastic! Really enjoyed it and learned a lot.”

NB:  this training is not suitable for anyone living with dementia, but is ideal for their families and friends, business people, retailers, anyone!

The training is absolutely free and supported by Belfast City Council, NICVA, and the Public Health Agency.

On the day registration opens at 1.30pm, The training begins at 2pm and lasts approximately 2-2.5 hours.
