Join us for this insightful online discussion with foster carers who went on to adopt.

For children in the care system, we know those early attachments have often been compromised or broken. At Barnardo's we aim to support and create fostering relationships that are built to last - but what does that look like in reality? For some young people, attachment and safety comes from a temporary or short breaks stay with trusted carers whilst others flourish best in a long term fostering placement that will see them through to adulthood. Meet foster parents who've formed life-long relationships with children placed in their care and who've also gone on to adopt. What does it mean to create meaningful relationships within the care system? What qualities do we need to consider when fostering or fostering to adopt? And, if a child is unable to return to their birth family, why isn't adoption always the best outcome?

We are hosting a lunch time and evening session. If you are interested in fostering, short or long term, or interested in fostering to adoption, join us for this thoughtful and insightful discussion.
