The aim of the Seminar is to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers seeking to benchmark and review their main recruitment and promotion practices against best practice equality indicators.
This is the second in a series of 5 short best practice seminars designed to assist Voluntary & Community Sector employers to benchmark their current employment practice against recommended equality best practice.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the seminar participants should have had an opportunity to consider:
- The key elements of the anti-discrimination legislation relating to recruitment and selection methods.
- Recruitment & Selection equality indicators outlined in Chapter 10 of the Unified Guide to Promoting Equality of Opportunity in Employment, covering areas such as job design, advertising, selection testing and pre-employment checking.
- Signposting to additional relevant guidance documents & support.
- Factors to consider in relation to individual equality grounds.
Participants will also receive one to one follow-up assistance with specific policy development as required.
