This course will assist tenants in understanding where responsibility lies for repairs within Private Tenancies. It will also discuss rights & obligations for both parties within the tenancy. It covers the legislation protecting tenants and landlords as well as discussing the recent updates to HMO properties. We will also discuss possible funding, including grants available for improvements to a property.

- To establish the repairing responsibility of landlords and tenants
- To help tenants secure prompt and effective repairs
- To help tenants enforce their rights
- To help tenants to complain or challenge landlords who have not acted on their repair responsibilities
Who should attend this course?
Anyone who would benefit from further knowledge of the Private Rented sector, with particular reference to repairs. This course will be of particular interest to people who regularly deal with housing queries including constituency office staff or generalist advice workers.
