This training course looks into the causes of debt and the types of debts that can affect your home.

Over the past 15 months tenants have struggled to maintain their home with additional issues linked to Covid, including redundancies and furlough affecting finances and ability to pay rent or mortgages.

This training course looks into the causes of debt and the types of debts that can affect your home. The session will address priority and non priority debts – what they are, how to prioritise and then deal with creditors to address your debts successfully. This session will lead into future sessions happening in September, addressing specifically:

  • Mortgage Arrears
  • Arrears in the Private and Social rented sectors

  • Community/residents groups

Why should they attend?

The session will assist anyone supporting someone dealing with debt. We will be discussing prioritisation of debts, how to effectively use financial statements to gather information and how to compose proposals to creditors to address outstanding debt.
