Cyber-attacks on places of worship: fact or fiction?

NICVA
This is a free event
Across the faith sector multiple internet security breaches have been reported – everything from personal data stolen from individual places of worship or faith-based care homes and websites hijacked to promote anti-religious messages in faith schools.
The question all faith-based charities and organisations should be asking is not ‘if’ they are susceptible to an online attack, but ‘when’ an attack may come to their door. So join us for this session to hear from Sam Kinkaid, Cyber Protect officer from the PSNI Cyber Crime Centre, who will outline the key steps everyone can take to help improve their cyber security and outline the important role guidance such as the ‘Small Charity Guide’ from the National Cyber Security Centre (www.ncsc.gov.uk) can play in securing your organisation.
This session covers:
- Recent incidents in Northern Ireland (including the charity and voluntary sector)
- The simple steps everyone can take to reduce the risk posed to their organisation
- The benefits of reporting
