Have you ever intervened after witnessing something? What happened?
Ever felt like you wanted to, or should, intervene, but didn’t? What stopped you?
Bystander Intervention means recognising a negative situation and responding in a way that can stop or de-escalate it.
We believe that everyone should feel safe and that we all have a role to play in making that happen.
With this workshop we aim to increase your confidence and empower you to become an active and effective bystander and help #BreakTheCycle of sexual abuse, abusive relationships, & harassment.
You will learn:
- The role of a Bystander
- What is domestic & sexual abuse and harassment?
- Why do people not intervene?
- What influences our decision to intervene or not?
- Safe intervention and scenario-based learning
- How to help, support and report.
