Belfast Samaritans
Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide.
Our volunteers provide a 24-hour confidential listening service for people with feelings of distress, despair or even suicide. Callers can contact us by telephone or webchat.
Many people have it in them to be a Samaritans’ volunteer. You don't have to have been through a particular life experience or be from a certain walk of life, you just have to be someone who wants to be there for others.
Volunteering can provide you with a feeling of fulfilment and an opportunity to give something back to the community. As a listening volunteer you will learn new skills, meet new people but most importantly, be there for people who are struggling emotionally.
If you’re interested in this kind of volunteering and can provide 4-5 hours per week and an overnight shift once every 6 weeks, we are inviting you to an:
