A highly motivated person is sought to join the Ulster Orchestra's Fundraising team, working with the Managing Director, Fundraising Consultants & Ulster Orchestra Foundation Board to provide administrative support for all fundraising activities.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated person to join the Ulster Orchestra's Fundraising team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Director, Fundraising Consultants and the Ulster Orchestra Foundation Board to provide administrative support for all fundraising activities.  The role is full time and based at the Orchestra’s offices in Seymour House, Belfast.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage the Orchestra’s Patrons’ Scheme of individual donations including managing Patrons’ events
  • Provide administrative support for the new Ulster Orchestra Corporate Members’ Scheme
  • Provide administrative support for the Ulster Orchestra Foundation (including minuting formal meetings)
  • Oversee the ongoing promotion and maintenance of the legacy programme.
  • Ensure good evaluation of all projects that attract corporate and trust fund financing
  • Keep a ‘clash’ list to avoid fundraising duplication between the Ulster Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra Foundation
  • Work with the Managing Director to ensure he/she has a meeting schedule with key donors; and provide any necessary follow up to those meetings
  • Provide administrative support for the two fundraising consultants employed by the Orchestra
  • Maintain the invitation list for any UO or UOF guests for concerts and other UO events (for key sponsors and other supporters)
  • To act as an ambassador for the organisation at all times.
  • Any other duties as may be required or requested.

Personnel Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to multi-task
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends as required
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to work
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs
  • Willingness to travel as required regionally across Northern Ireland, UK and internationally
  • Willingness to work in Belfast and be based in Northern Ireland

Desirable Criteria

  • An honours degree: 2:2 or higher
  • A keen interest in culture
  • Experience of working in fundraising
  • Evidence of writing successful proposals for fundraising applications
  • Fundraising event management experience
  • A clean driving licence
Desirable criteria will be used in the event of shortlisting.
