Belfast Exposed

Belfast Exposed presents a solo photographic exhibition that showcases new photographic works by Futures Awardee David Copeland ‘A Blanket of Woven Shadows’, Copeland’s work employs conceptual and documentary approaches, exploring states of mind, place and the boundaries physical and psychological that can hold us in-between.

Belfast Exposed is delighted to present a co-curated selection of works from 15 renowned photographers, lecturers and students from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. The exhibition will open on the 23 of January to coincide with the Chinese new year on the 25 January.  ‘Inside Out’ is an exchange programme in partnership with Ulster University (Photographic Department) and Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang, China.

Belfast Exposed is delighted to present the second Jerwood / Photoworks Awards exhibition. Following our involvement as a touring partner for the first JPA exhibition, we were pleased to be invited to take part in the prestigious programme again in 2017-2018. Works presented by the awardees Alejandra Carles-Tolra, Sam Laughlin and Lua Ribeira explore themes such as belonging, fragility of the natural world and death.

Trans Pride NI

Trans Pride NI Event Celebrating Gender Diversity and Transgender People On the 31st of May and 1st of June 2019 history will be made, when the first multi-event Trans Pride NI Festival takes place, celebrating gender diversity and transgender people at events in Belfast city centre. Themed “Celebrating Gender Diversity” this year’s festivities will include a vibrant and colourful march, discussions and an art exhibition on what it is like to be Trans, Intersex or Non-binary.

We, Us, Them is a collaborative exhibition between Belfast Exposed and the Centre for Contemporary Photography, Melbourne which takes a female focus in relation to cultural values within first nation and global racism as well as the representation of women. The exhibition also focuses on the understanding of place, body and language.
