NEWCASTLE ARTS FESTIVAL 17 - 19th AUGUST 2012!

Now in its 2nd year, The Newcastle Arts Festival will be fun-packed with something for everyone.

Come and enjoy some of our finest local talent while relaxing in Newcastle’s spectacular surroundings at the foot of the Mourne Mountains

Look out for street performances from The Donard Theatre Group, street entertainers, magician, workshops and art exhibitions showcasing local artists, plus glittering performances from a range of outstanding musicians. Most events on the festival are free!

There's a huge range of music throughout the town with Mirenda Rosenberg + the Alan McKelvey Band providing a great evening of Soul & Blues, Paul Buckley, Roy Fulton & Mickey Murphy will be giving a guitar masterclass between performances, plus a whole range of talent from Flamenco to Jazz. Also, don't miss Blastproof Sunglasses, who'll be be performing on the opening night & at the end of festival 'bash'.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Pop-up Gallery opposite the Newcastle Centre in the middle of town and visit the festival HQ at Annesley Hall where you’ll be able to get up-to-date information on events, buy t-shirts and pick up extra programmes.

For the kids, there's the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (Sorry - this is now fully booked!).  WheelWorks’ ArtCart will be visiting again on Sunday, providing digital music workshops for techno-savvy kids.

As a pre-festival warm-up the inimitable Hat Fitz and Cara on Saturday 11 August in The Wilmar is a show not to be missed, tickets for this show and the amazing Mirenda Rosenberg on Saturday 18 August are available now via www.wegottickets.com or from O’Hare’s bar or Newcastle Tourist Information.

Most events are free and paid events are very reasonably priced. The festival programme is out now, for more details, visit our website at: www.newcastlefestival.org & Facebook pages for the latest NAF news.
