Kaleidoscope, based in Northern Ireland, was established in 2006 by Artistic Director Kerry Rooney and since that time has grown to become an innovative and dynamic production company.

Kaleidoscope produce an eclectic mix theatre productions each year. Our output covers everything from established favourites to new work. As a company we are committed to producing theatre of the highest standard, building new audiences, supporting and promoting new talent and to bringing our productions to venues across the country.

Acting Up is Kaleidoscope’s unique performing arts programme for older people. Acting Up gives older people the opportunity to get involved in the performing arts as active participants. It’s a chance for older people to take on a new challenge, to learn some new skills, to express their creativity and to have fun and meet new people. There are Acting Up groups all over the country. The Imagine Arts Festival is Kaleidoscope’s annual Arts Festival for Older People aimed at celebrating and encouraging older people’s involvement in the arts. Each year the event which is delivered in partnership with the Belfast Waterfront Hall attracts hundreds of older people from all over Northern Ireland. The Festival programme brings together a incredible mix of arts events, workshops and performances for older people and by older people. The Festival also boasts Northern Ireland’s largest Tea Dance event.
