The issue of childcare costs has received a great deal of publicity on a national level in the last few weeks. It is therefore timely that Employers For Childcare Charitable Group is now conducting its third annual childcare cost survey for parents in Nor

In last year’s survey 62% of parents stated that they struggle significantly to meet their childcare costs either throughout or at some point during the year. In the context of the current economic climate and the anticipated increase in childcare costs, we expect that this figure will rise considerably in this year’s survey.

The charity needs to hear from a range of families about their experiences of using childcare: families in rural areas, two parent and single parent families, families using tax credits, families with children with disabilities and/or special needs. Employers For Childcare wants to fully represent all of the challenges faced by families across Northern Ireland.

It is important that as many parents as possible complete the survey as the results will be used to campaign Government for more financial assistance for parents with their childcare costs.

On completing the survey, parents will be entered into a draw to win 1 of 4 fantastic prizes:

• 300 litres of home heating oil from Carlisle Fuels
• Apple iPad 2 (16gb) from DHL
• £250 IKEA voucher
• £100 worth of electricity from Airtricity
