OYTI AT OPPORTUNITY EUROPE AND BEYOND

Ocean Youth Trust Ireland was at the annual two-day fair and exhibition show “Opportunity Europe and Beyond”. The purpose of this event was to encourage students to understand and enjoy the different cultures in Northern Ireland, Europe and Beyond.

Ocean Youth Trust Ireland was in St George's Market on 16 and 17 October at the annual two-day fair and exhibition show “Opportunity Europe and Beyond”. The purpose of this event was to encourage students from schools in Northern Ireland to understand and enjoy the different cultures in Northern Ireland, Europe and beyond. The exhibition also provided students with information on working, studying, volunteering and travelling throughout Europe and Beyond. The annual two-day fair and exhibition offered a full series of workshops, events, stands, plays, even dance sessions and much more.

During the exhibition, OYTI showcased one of their fabulous boats to students from a lot of schools in Northern Ireland. OYTI delivered a full programme of workshops over the two-day event on volunteer opportunities career, sailing and camp, that included showing students the various parts of the boat and an on screen film showing sailing in Belfast, Derry-Londonderry and Castlewellan. OYTI explained to students that all activities in OYTI are aimed to make possible in the young people the development of own potential and the improvement of relationships with other in the community.

Students also had the opportunity to enter a competition with the winner receiving a sailing session for two and ten runners up receiving an OYTI activity pack which includes cap, t-shirt, compass and so on. Many students came to OYTI stand to know it and enter in the competition. The event was very successful. Winners will be announced week commencing.
