A presentation event has been held in Belfast City Hall to showcase organisations’ investment in volunteers and to recognise excellence in volunteer management in Northern Ireland.  The UK Investing in Volunteers (IiV) Quality Standard for Volunteer Management was awarded to 18 volunteer-involving organisations from across the Province which brings the total to 46 organisations in Northern Ireland who have achieved this Quality Standard.

Sandra Adair, Director of Policy and Capacity Building, Volunteer Now, said, “I am delighted to have this opportunity to showcase the 18 organisations who have achieved the Investing in Volunteers award during this, the European Year of Volunteering.  It demonstrates their commitment to valuing the huge contribution made by volunteers and the importance of ensuring volunteers have a good experience.”

Volunteer Now has been funded through The Building Change Trust and the Department for Social Development to provide bursaries to enable organisations to access the IiV Award.   If your organisation wishes to publicly demonstrate its commitment to good practice and receive a National Award for quality in volunteer management please email [email protected] or visit www.volunteernow.co.uk for more information.
