Dr Simon Duffy, Director of The Centre for Welfare Reform, will be addressing leading organisations and interested individuals at the launch of Campaign for a Fair Society in Northern Ireland.

Dr Simon Duffy from the Centre for Welfare Reform will address the local community in Belfast on why we need a fair society and the work of the Campaign for a Fair Society on the launch of the Northern Ireland steering group (26th June 2012,NICVA,10.00am)

Dr Simon Duffy is a philosopher and social innovator who has worked for over 20 years to find practical ways of redesigning the welfare system to promote citizenship, family and community.

Simon started work in 1988 for the NHS. From 1990 he was a pioneer of supported living and individualised funding working with Southwark Consortium. In 1966 he founded and led Inclusion Glasgow and helped set up a series of new organisations and initiatives in Scotland including Partners for Inclusion and Altrum.

Simon is also policy advisor to the Campaign For a Fair Society (CFFS) which campaigns against on-going unfairness of society and current welfare system. He will be addressing representatives of charities, non-governmental organisations and the local community in Belfast on why we need a fair society and how we can achieve it at the launch of CFFS Northern Ireland on the 26th June, from 10.00am to 3.00pm in Conference Room A, NICVA.

The CFFS Manifesto will also be introduced at the event, as well as the experience of the Scottish and English steering groups, followed by a group discussion on a Northern Irish action plan.
