Celebrate Volunteers’ Week 2014 – FREE resources available
Cookstown and Magherafelt Volunteer Centre are inviting volunteer involving organisations to order FREE resources to recognise and thank their volunteers as part of Volunteers’ Week 1–7 June.
Local people from Cookstown and Magherafelt were among 100 volunteers from across Northern Ireland who officially launched the 30th anniversary of Volunteers’ Week recently at Stormont along with Nelson McCausland, Minister for Social Development.
Minister McCausland acknowledged the difference that volunteers make to our society. He said: “I am delighted to hear the inspirational stories of our volunteers and especially of those who have made a long standing contribution, some having committed 30 years of service. I admire their commitment and dedication to helping others. Today’s event is a celebration of the vital contribution that volunteers make and to publicly recognise the importance and value of the services they provide to others in society.”
