Conway Education Centre

Conway Education Centre is requesting the help from Science and Maths teachers and volunteers to support refugees with their homework tasks and improve their English language,

A growing group of refugee young people  (between 12 and 17 years of age) are attending Conway Education Centre for homework support and we are looking for additional volunteers and Science and Maths teachers to help them with their understanding of subjects, improve English language skills and support homework tasks.

We are looking for individuals who could give one hour per week, from 4pm - 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, during term time.

The young people from Syria and Somalia have missed a lot of school and are now eager to catch up on their education. For some English language is a priority, others  have basic English, but need support with Maths and Science. The young people are a great group to work with, very motivated to learn and a pleasure to teach.

So please, if you have a background in education, or you are a Science or Maths teacher with some spare time, give me a call on 02890 248543 or email [email protected]

This volunteering position requires a clear Access NI certificate and all volunteers are entitled to reimboursement of travel expenses.
