Befriending is a great opportunity to give your time and commitment in making a real difference to someone's life.

Our member Marie is in her 60s and lives in Coleraine with her two cats. Marie used to work in the Civil Service and is a huge quiz fan. She has moved from County Down to Coleraine and would like the opportunity to get to know someone in her new local area. She is looking for a friendly female volunteer who is available to pay her a visit each week either on a Tuesday or Friday afternoon and perhaps go out to the local cafe for a coffee from time to time - maybe even a local quiz! Marie would love the opportunity to have a regular visitor and to get to know someone over a cuppa - she loves company and a good chat!

Ideally, you will be a driver with your own transport, with a genuine interest in other people. A good listener available to make a regular weekly visit.

Do you need experience or specialist skills?

No - simply a genuine desire to help and some spare time on a regular weekly basis. We will ensure you are supported throughout your journey with us, offering training and support at all times. We will also reimburse out of pocket expenses to you and pay for your Access NI check.
