Choices Family Support Service supports young people aged 10-17 and their families to overcome and manage issues regarding mental health/emotional health, family breakdown, at risk of offending and difficulties in relation to education.  Choices Family Support Service provides one to one support for young people, family work and parental support.  We aim to enable young people to make positive choices and express ambitions for the future.

Your role as a Social Worker within the service will entail supporting young people to overcome and manage difficulties they are facing by assessing needs, agreeing a service plan, carrying out agreed work and reviewing progress on a regular basis. As a Social Worker you are required to be a motivated and creative thinker who can work on their own initiative and as part of a team in a varied and challenging role.  Excellent organisational and communication skills are essential, with particular reference to presenting information such as report writing and recording. This is a Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2018, with possible extension to end date (working 37 hours a week).

What you'll need:

Social Work Qualified with previous post qualifying experience in a social work role (completed AYE).

Confident in the use of IT and completing assessments, service plans and appropriate interventions to meet assessed needs.

NISCC Registered.

Experience of direct work with families and young people with complex issues.

Use of own vehicle for business miles.

Ability to be flexible regarding visits outside normal office hours and willing to travel across the Northern Trust area.
