Service Coordinator, Independent Living, Coleraine

25 hours per week, Fixed Term to Aug 2019, £18,619 pa pro rata

 The Independent Living (IL) & Crisis Response (CR) service (IL/CR) supports people in the space between hospital and home and responds to the needs of people in crisis following an emergency; maintaining an extensive network of external relationships across health, social care and emergency services. The main aims of the services are to: alleviate social isolation and loneliness; promote community participation; enable individuals to retain their independence within their own home; prevent attendance at hospital or GP practice for non-medical reasons and improve health and wellbeing.

 The post-holder will assist the Service Manager in developing the service and work closely with external stakeholders. You will co-ordinate a range of independent living services and ensure that all appropriate service standards, recognised good practice and legal requirements are incorporated into a quality service that meets the needs of beneficiaries and values the work of Red Cross volunteers. 

We are looking for someone with excellent communicator who is well organised and can prioritise competing demands. You will have good IT skills and an understanding of how to improve service quality for the benefit of users. Ideally you will have experience of the voluntary sector and an understanding of the service provided by the NHS and Social Care.

 Full driving licence holder and access to vehicle or be able to evidence alternative is essential for this role.

The post requires regular evening work, being part of a regular 24 hour duty officer on-call rota and potential emergency responses duties at any time throughout the year.
