Action on Hearing Loss is the new name for RNID. We are working for a world where hearing loss doesn’t limit or label people, where tinnitus is silenced and where people value and look after their hearing.

Role and Responsibilities

Our “Hear to Help” Programme works throughout Northern Ireland to ensure that people who are deaf or hard of hearing receive the support and information needed to lead quality lives. This is through practical hearing aid support and in the delivery of information.

You will manage this service across all five health trust areas, managing staff and developing strong partnerships with each trust. You will assist the team to attract, train and support volunteers who will work alongside the team in the development and delivery of the Hear to Help project.

Our volunteers bring skills, experience, energy, enthusiasm and commitment to Action on Hearing Loss.  They help us in a wide variety of ways: they provide support and assistance to people who are deaf and hard of hearing, help fit and maintain equipment, train other volunteers, and take part in campaigns, fundraising and outreach events.

You’ll work directly with various departments within the NI Directorate and assist us to recruit the right volunteers as well as providing training, support, advice and encouragement.

Friendly, approachable and with excellent organisational skills, you will bring strong project and staff management experience as well as a knowledge of best practice in volunteer management. If you believe you have the skills and experience for this role, and would love the challenge of this job, we would like to hear from you.

You’ll need access to your own transport to be able to carry out duties of the job.
