The overall aim of the Inclusion Matters service is to enable people with physical disabilities and brain injury living in rural areas of the Western Trust Southern Sector to engage in activities in their local community.

                             

The Cedar Foundation is seeking to recruit the following:

 

Project Officer – Inclusion Matters                                 REF: 17/166/PO/IM/WEB

 

Purpose of the Job: 

The overall aim of the Inclusion Matters service is to enable people with physical disabilities and brain injury living in rural areas of the Western Trust Southern Sector to engage in activities in their local community.

 

Hours:                         18 Hrs per week (This post may require some evening and weekend work)

Contract:                    Permanent

Location:                    Western Health & Social Care Trust (Southern Sector)

Salary:                         3 point incremental scale starting on £21,268 per annum pro rata.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum QCF Level 5/Degree or equivalent level in a relevant discipline such as Health and Social Care

AND

  • Minimum of 1 years’ paid experience of support people with disabilities or other vulnerable individuals in the direct provision of education, training or support

    OR

  • Minimum QCF level 3 or equivalent

    AND 

  • Minimum of 3 years’ paid experience as above

    AND

  • Experience of building positive relationships with wide variety of stakeholders

  • Knowledge of relevant public bodies and community organisations that can support social and community engagement opportunities

  • Hold a full current driving licence valid for use in the UK and Ireland and have access to a car on appointment.

    This criterion will be waived in the case of a suitable applicant who has a disability which prohibits them from driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements in order to meet the requirements of the post in full

     

    Desirable Criteria:

    • Experience of working with adults with Physical and Sensory Disabilities
    • Experience in a Community Development Role
    • Experience & understanding of the barriers in relation to disability 
    • Previous experience of interagency working
    • Facilitation and group work skills
