Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster is hiring a Project Officer to be based in the Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster Headquarters in Belfast. The role is for 20 hours per week (by agreement) and initially for a one year term.

Company Overview- The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU) was founded in 1929 and is an open, non-political, body operating by means of an Association of individual clubs throughout Northern Ireland. We currently have a network of 60 local self-governing / youth-led Young Farmers’ Clubs operating across all six counties. The association is strategically managed by a peer-elected Board of Directors (Executive Committee). As an Association the YFCU represents the interests and aspirations of 3000 members. At the heart of the YFCU is an annual calendar of internally and externally accredited courses, competitions and events. The calendar is designed to ensure that the programme of work offers something for everyone, from all backgrounds and abilities and at all levels of the association.

About this role- We are hiring a Project Officer to be based in the Young Farmers' Clubs of Ulster Headquarters in Belfast. The role is for 20 hours per week (by agreement) and initially for a one year term.

Main Responsibilities

  • To manage the collation of data in relation to the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs and the Education Authority funded projects.
  • Create surveys and evaluation forms to measure project impacts, collate and review the returns
  • Liaise with the PR & communications to include copies of all publicity materials, photographs, social media activity and press releases relating to the programmes
  • Use CRM to produce reports and manage data on a regular basis
  • Produce half yearly and final written reports on projects to the satisfaction of CEO and funding partners
  • Administer AQA and Duke of Edinburgh award schemes, ensuring targets are met, modules verified and certificates produced.
  • Answer the phone system as required and deal with queries in relation to the role
  • Manage basic filing and office management tasks for the role and for the CEO
  • Other duties requested by the CEO including administration

Essential Criteria

  • 2 years’ experience working in an office environment,
  • Proven ability to collate information to produce reports, 
  • Proven ability to analyse data and produce graphic reports,
  •  Strong IT skills especially Excel to include creation of pivot tables, charts and graphs

Desirable Criteria  -

  • Previous use of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System,
  • Ability to link simple formula within excel

  • Salary £18,200 pro rata (this position will be 20 hours per week)
  • This job is secured for 1 year  (possible extension will be dependent of funding)
  • 21 days annual leave (pro rata)
  • 20 hours of work per week, flexibility with set hours subject to approval.
  • Mileage and subsistence paid for expenses during working hours
