Secondment – 3 years with the possibility of an extension for a further year subject to the agreement of all parties.
The work of an Investigating Officer (IO) is to investigate thoroughly and report on complaints that have been received by the Ombudsman. This investigation may entail a preliminary analysis of the complaint or a more detailed investigation. The IO gathers evidence, perspectives and explanations from all parties to each complaint, and may need to interview both senior officials and complainants.
