PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Maintaining management information systems for financial and budgetary control.

 

  1. Ongoing management of the financial and administrative procedures in conjunction with the strategic objectives of the organisation and its funders.

 

  1. Line Management responsibilites for the Finance/Admin team.

 

DUTIES:

 

FINANCE:

 

  1. Establish and maintain a computerised management information system to support and control Feile an Phobail budgets.

 

  1. Implement and review all accounting system to ensure the efficient delivery of financial functions for the organisation.

 

  1. Be responsible for the preparation of financial projections, budgets and cash flow for Féile an Phobail, present monthly/quarterly statements of income and expenditure for all projects to the Management Committee.

 

  1. Ensure that Féile an Phobail complies with any changes in legislation relating to financial matters – e.g. VAT and PAYE.

 

  1. Ensure that the organisation complies with any liability regarding tax and liaise with the Inland Revenue as required.

 

  1. Develop effective use of computerised accounting systems, ensuring manual back up.

 

  1. Be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of Féile an Phobail’s current work and proposed developments are adequately insured, advising the Director/Stiúrthóir on any necessary changes or requirements.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

A suitable applicant needs to demonstrate the following in their application:

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:

 

  1. Qualified / Part qualified in an accountancy discipline with a minimum of three years experience; or five years experience in all aspects of the job description and the other essential criteria.
  2. Three years experience in the use on Sage Payroll and Sage on line accounts.
  3. Experience & knowledge of VAT, PAYE, SSP AND SMP.
  4. Excellent computer skills. 
  5. Good sound knowledge of all aspects of accounting. Weekly and monthly payroll, running payroll year end, management of ledgers - sales, purchase and nominal, Bankreconciliations, Journals, VAT returns, internet banking and credit control.
  6. Knowledge and experience of completing funding applications and reports
  7. Knowledge and experience of a wide range of community, voluntary and statutory agencies and proven achievement through networking with same.
  8. Knowledge and experience of assisting with, and complying to, monitoring and evaluation procedures.
  9. Knowledge and experience of working to budgets and guidelines.
  10. Experience of supervising and supporting staff.

  9. The ability to build good working relationships.

  1. The Finance & Admin Officer/Oifigeach Airgeadais & Riaracháin must exhibit a well-structured, organised and disciplined approach to work.
  2. Should demonstrate a high level of motivation.
  3. Have the ability to work within a team or own initiative.
  4. Have excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  5. Display the skills of maturity, delegation, mediation and responsibility.
  6. Commitment to the aims and values of Féile an Phobail.
  7. Be prepared to work unsocial hours when necessary.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

This Post is currently funded by the Arts Council NI up to the 31st March 2019 – and subject to continuation funding on an annual basis. This is a permanent post (subject to continued funding from the ACNI)

A probation period of six months applies to the post.

 

HOURS OF WORK

 

The post has a 37.5 hours per week

 

Time in lieu will be given when overtime is required.

 

HOLIDAYS

 

Twenty-five days per year in addition to the standard statutory holidays.
