Equine Facilitated Coordinator

We are looking for an Equine Facilitated Coordinator to develop and coach a team, to deliver Donkey Facilitated Learning Activities (DFLA) and Equine Care and Behaviour at our centres.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, you will plan, prepare and deliver DFLA sessions for individuals and groups of vulnerable children and adults, recording levels of engagement and evaluating impact for reporting purposes. You will build close relationships with educational establishments and support networks whilst acting in line with safeguarding policies.

You will be responsible for the care and welfare of the donkeys, examining for ill health and taking appropriate action, efficiently maintaining a clean, safe and secure working environment, and promoting the donkey’s physical and emotional well-being. A BHS Stage 2 qualification (or equivalent), together with experience in delivering a high standard of equine care and transporting livestock, is essential.

With the ability to lead a team, you will possess excellent coaching and communication skills and be able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive situations.

This is a full time, permanent contract starting as soon as possible, working 37.5 hours per week. Core hours will be Monday – Friday, 08.00 – 16.30, but will include working the 1st Saturday of every month. The working pattern will be agreed between the Line Manager and the post holder.
