Reconnect is a registered charity located in the Castlereagh Hills outside Belfast. Established in 1991, Reconnect provides training and rehabilitation services to adults of all ages with an acquired brain injury (ABI). Its mission is to help people with an ABI to achieve their maximum potential through structured progressive development programmes based on individual needs and capabilities.

Reconnect is an accredited training centre which provides recognised qualifications in accordance with QCF in literacy, numeracy, IT and horticulture from the City and Guilds, Open College Network, OCR, CCEA, NSP and NPTC curricula.

In addition, Reconnect offers a range of non-accredited training and rehabilitation programmes in these areas and in a wide range of socio-vocational activities including DIY, arts and crafts, bowling, football, boccia and personal fitness.

Reconnect also provides a Supported Employment Programme in the areas of gardening and landscaping which is delivered in the local community.

This is an exciting time to be part of Reconnect as it develops its regional Outreach programme.

Board members play a vital role in meeting the challenges of governance and leadership in an ever-changing economic climate and a full induction/training plan will be provided. 

We are keen to receive applications from all sections of the community and would especially welcome applications from persons with skills and experience in:

• Acquired brain injury, physical and sensory disability and/or mental health

• Horticulture

• Training/Education

• Accountancy

• Construction/Project management

• Marketing / PR

• Fundraising

• HR

• Legal /Policy
