Welfare Reform Bill - 2 hour information seminar
Homeless Connect
This 2 hour Information Seminar is aimed at staff who advise and support service users in community based organisations, temporary accommodation and Floating Support Services.
The Coalition Government considers the reform of Welfare benefit to be its primary policy priority.
The changes proposed, both through the Welfare Reform Bill and supporting regulations, will have considerable negative consequences for many people in Northern Ireland.
This 2 hour Seminar will examine the contents of the Bill, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Housing Benefit regulations. It will outline the progress of legislation in both Westminster and Stormont and the steps that are being taken to try to lessen the impact.
Importantly delegates will be able to discuss how best to assist service users and develop support plans which reflect the new restrictions.
