Time to Commit to Women

The Women at the Cutting Edge conference, in the Riddle Hall at Queen’s University, attracted people from women’s centers, women’s organisations, women activists, trade union movement and other community organisations.

Organised by Reclaim the Agenda, the issue under the spotlight was the austerity agenda and the impact on women’s community and voluntary organisations.

Following the presentations and an overview of the research, participants took part in round table discussions. The voices, concerns and demands where gathered by Women's Sector Lobbyist, Kellie Turtle, to produce a follow up report to hold the government accountable.

In light of the upcoming assembly election there is no better time to unite and make our voices heard.

We urge everyone to attend and get involved in this campaign to ensure our next assembly commits to gender equality. At the event we will be setting up a working group which will demand an explanation as to how the political parties deliver on the demands of the women's movement.

When? 16th February 2017, 10am-12.30pm
Where? UNISON, Galway House, 165 York St, Belfast BT15 1AL
