The Safe handling of Medication workshop will cover the knowledge requirements of HSC 3047

AIMS
To enable participants to deliver training on the safe handling of medication.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course participants will:
- be familiar with and able to use the materials provided
- be able to deliver training so that staff can mange medication safely and effectively
- be able to ensure staff are aware of legislation, policies, procedures and good practice
- be able to provide information to staff about what to do in the event of a problem
- have practiced delivering a presentation
Information about specific medications or specific nursing administration procedures is NOT included in the training.
Participants should note that they will be expected to deliver a short training session on day 2 from the managing medication 1-day workshop.
All learners will receive a copy of the ARC Safe Handling Medication Trainers Manual, which includes the training resources required to deliver a day’s training course including overheads
