AIMS

To enable participants to deliver training on the safe handling of medication.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course participants will:

• be familiar with and able to use the materials provided
• be able to deliver training so that staff can mange medication safely and effectively
• be able to ensure staff are aware of legislation, policies, procedures and good practice
• be able to provide information to staff about what to do in the event of a problem
• have practiced delivering a presentation

Information about specific medications or specific nursing administration procedures is NOT included in the training.

Participants should note that they will be expected to deliver a short training session on day 2 from the managing medication 1-day workshop.

All learners will receive a copy of the ARC Safe Handling Medication Trainers Manual, which includes the training resources required to deliver a day’s training course including overheads
