There are a dizzying array of membership schemes out there, with lots of different incentives to get someone on board. It can be hard to know why audiences donate and how to encourage them to do more of it. We’ll look at the different motivations for audiences to join memberships or donate to your organisation in this workshop.

Want to know how to transform all of the magic of your organisation into a membership scheme? Lots of organisations dream of a brimming membership scheme, chock full of audience members. The hard part is knowing how to get there! Do you know what kind of membership scheme you need? Do you know what is involved if you create one? Maybe you’re not quite sure what your audiences would want from a membership? There is a dizzying array of membership schemes out there, with lots of different incentives to get someone on board. Similarly, it can be hard to know why audiences donate and how to encourage them to do more of it. We’ll look at the different motivations for audiences to donate, plus a variety of methods to make it simple for them to do so.

What to expect: This event is a workshop. Discussions between attendees and exercises will be facilitated by our Client Relationships Executive, Catherine McLaughlin. There will be free refreshments at this event during the break.

FAQs

Covid-19 Safety Measures:

  • We will be asking participants not to attend if they are experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms.
  • We highly recommend that participants take a lateral flow test to confirm a negative result before attending the event.
  • The space will be ventilated for added airflow and will be set up for appropriate social distancing.
  • Masks are not required for this event, but please feel free to wear one if you would feel more comfortable doing so!
  • We will invite participants to sanitise their hands before arriving at the event & will have sanitiser available during the event for anyone who needs it.
  • Face coverings should be worn throughout the public spaces in the rest of the building. You don't have to wear a face-covering during the event, but please feel free to do so if you would like to!

Is the venue accessible?

All areas of The Crescent are fully accessible by ramps and a passenger lift leaving you to explore and enjoy our building. The team has been trained to operate ‘Evacusafe’ chairs Induction loop systems are in position at reception and in the Cube Theatre space. The Crescent also has two portable loop systems. Tactile signage is used on key areas within The Crescent. All signage has been designed to facilitate ease of reading for those with visual impairments. There are disabled toilets located on every floor of the building.

What room are we in?

We are in Studio 4 on the second floor. Turn to the left when exiting the staircase and it will be towards the end of the corridor.

How to get there?

By Train: The closest train station is Botanic Station which is a 4 minutes walk away.

By Bus: Numerous Metro buses 8 and 9 serve the University Area. Belfast’s main terminal, Europa Bus Station is a simple 13 minutes walk from The Crescent.

By Bike: Within The Crescent grounds, we have dedicated bicycle racks for your bikes. You will also find a Belfast Bike dock right across the road from us.

By Car: There is a variety of pay per hour car parking spots on Botanic Avenue and a longer stay paid car park on Posnett Street which is 5 mins walk away.

What about childcare?

This event will be child-friendly. While there won't be childcare available, your children are more than welcome to join you for the event.
