Market Soundings Event

The Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) wishes to tender for a service that supports foster carers and kinship foster carers to enhance the educational attainment whilst enriching the educational experience of children and young people in their care.

This service, which will be called, Promoting the Educational Attainment of Looked After Children in Foster Care, is required to promote opportunities for education and learning (both formal and informal) to improve foster children’s educational outcomes and promote resilience to contribute to their economic wellbeing and independence in the future.

Promoting the Educational Attainment of Looked After Children in Foster Care service will be available to all foster children from 3 months before they are due to commence formal education. The service will be based on the child’s assessed and documented need and will continue until foster care ceases to be their preferred placement.

Market Engagement Meeting

The HSCB is currently developing the specification for this service and wishes to complete a market soundings in advance of the finalisation of the tender specification.

A Market Engagement Meeting will be held on 26 September 2017 at 10am in NICVA, 61 Duncairn Gardens, Belfast BT15 2GB, to gain a clear understanding of available services and developments in this market, and gauge the level of interest in the provision of the services in advance of the formal tender process.

No submissions are required in advance of the market engagement meeting. However, suppliers may submit an organisation profile with their expression of interest in attending the meeting on 26 September 2017. Any profile submitted should not exceed two A4 pages.

Please note: There is a current contract in place which provides similar services to those being procured under this exercise – this contract is due to end on the 31 March 2018.
