The Dept of Health & Dept of Justice have launched a consultation on the draft Mental Capacity Bill. Mencap are organising 3 events to ensure that people with a learning disability, their families & carers have the opportunity to have their voices heard.

The Department of Health, Social Service and Public Safety and the Department of Justice have launched a consultation on the draft Mental Capacity Bill.  The Bill will introduce a single, statutory framework governing all situations where a decision needs to be made in relation to the care, treatment (for a physical or mental illness) or personal welfare, of a person aged 16 or over, who lacks capacity to make the decision for themselves.

 Mencap are organising three events to ensure that people with a learning disability, their families and carers have the opportunity to have their voices heard.
