This walking tour with a difference will take you through some very familiar Belfast locations.
The tour will be led by Dr John Ó Néill, one of Ireland's leading archaeologists. On the tour, John will uncover some of the hidden heritages of Belfast city centre, including lost graveyards, Belfast's medieval history, ramparts, gates and more.
The tour will commence in Clifton Street cemetery and explore its origins, links to famous graveyards elsewhere and history and then go back in time, as we walk into the city centre. Total time 2 hours, including walking time of around 15 minutes.
Dr John Ó Néill is currently Research Manager at IAC Archaeology and a Visiting Research Fellow at QUB. He has published and lectured on both archaeology and local history.
