ILM Level 5 Award in Management of Volunteers
NICVA
The Level 5 Award in Management of Volunteers has been designed to help you manage, supervise or support volunteers or teams of volunteers more effectively.
Volunteering is on the rise - people giving something of themselves and making a valuable contribution to the community. A recent study by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations reported that 91 per cent of the charities registered in the UK have no paid staff and are run by volunteers.
Organisations benefit most from volunteers when they have processes and procedures for recruiting and retaining them. Staff need to be trained in how to manage and build a motivated team of volunteers. Within the two training sessions planned we will cover the keys areas of:
- Understanding the need for a volunteer policy
- Understanding how a volunteer policy may add value to an organisation and its volunteers/employees
- Understanding how risk management impacts upon a volunteer policy
- Gathering data for the development of a volunteering policy
- Understanding how to communicate what is required from volunteers
- Understanding the importance of effective communication when managing volunteers
- Supporting volunteers in recognising and responding to risk
- Maintaining the motivation of volunteers
The training will be delivered over two days from 10am - 4pm (lunch and refreshments included) and is delivered in partnership with Volunteer Now.
Day One: Thursday 19th January 2017: Manage the Development of a Volunteering Policy
Day Two: Thursday 26 January 2017: Manage the Motivation of Volunteers
An induction session will be held ONLINE on 12 January 2017 from 1-2pm
