Fostering Teens with Barnardo's NI

Many of the young people referred to fostering services are either tweens or teens.

What is it like to bring a teenager, you don't know, into your home? How do you navigate the challenges that can come with the teenage years whilst also helping a young person in care to feel safe and supported? How do you build an alliance at at time when many young people are, naturally, beginning to pull away?

In this session, we will speaking to foster carers who have stepped up to support and foster teenagers and we will reflect on what they've found helpful in building relationships with their fostered teens.
