This art installation is created by YouthAction NI's Gender Equality Unit to commemorate International Women's Day on 8 March. 100 tailor dummy busts have been designed and decorated by young women as a comment on self-image, issues and aspirations.

This unique installation can be viewed at PS2 art gallery, Donegall Street, Belfast, from 5 March to 10 March 2012.   The busts are accompanied by messages created by the young women to illuminate their thoughts and explorations through the process.

100 young women from throughout the North have contributed their voice to this art piece, with young women from Fermanagh, Derry/Londonderry and Greater Belfast creating their own torsos with their individual messages.  Young women’s groups from within YouthAction Northern Ireland have used their existing themes to devise their own messages, eg young women and mental health, young women who identify as other than heterosexual, young women’s media group, young mothers, young women and domestic violence; giving a rich array of perspectives on young women.

The exhibition will run for a week in PS2 gallery in Donegall Street and will be dispersed throughout the local areas where the young women can present their work with pride and passion.
