Financial Management Issues for Trustees/Committees - free event

NICVA

Cost: Free

NICVA in association with Moore Stephens are hosting a free half day seminar for trustees and committee members on financial management issues.

The seminar will examine the importance of budgeting and forecasting, consider the importance of good financial management as well as insolvency danger signs and give consideration to the opportunities presented by collaboration and mergers within the voluntary community and social enterprise sector in NI.

With the continued threat of reduced funding, it is essential that the charity’s trustees have a good knowledge and solid understanding of its finances. Although keeping on top of the organisation’s financial information can sometimes be a detailed and complex process, even the smallest organisation needs to implement proper financial management. The key action point for many trustees will be to review current fundraising strategies and income streams and understand what funding is in place to enable it to meets its objectives in the short, medium and long term.

You will hear briefings from financial experts from Moore Stephens and Insolvency Practitioners from Begbies Traynor on:

  • Trustees Guide to Accounts;
  • Financial Management;
  • Budgeting/Forecasting;
  • Collaboration or Merger;
  • Insolvency Danger Signs;
  • Merger Case Study – NIAMH/Addiction NI.

The seminar will commence at 9.30am until 1pm.
