Community Change is pleased to announce that it is delivering A Peoples History Project in collaboration with the SS Nomadic Trust.

As the title says this is, A People's History project where interested  groups can access FREE accredited training, carry out a local history project, have an exhibition displayed on-board the SS Nomadic and participate in a series of lectures and workshops.

Would your community or voluntary group members like to:

  • Gain an OCN Level 1 and/or OCN Level 2.
  • You could explore the crucial period in history from 1886 to 1921 and critically examine events such as the involvement of the 16th Irish, 10th Irish and 36th Ulster Division in World War One, the Easter Rising, the Partition of Ireland and the formation of Northern Ireland and other areas of particular interest to your group.
  • Have the opportunity to examine these events from different perspectives.
  • Learn research techniques to carry out your own history project.
  • Be supported to carry out a local history project with an interest to group members.
  • Prepare and display an exhibition on board the SS Nomadic.
  • Have opportunity to attend a series of local history lectures.

This is truly A People's History Project so if your group have an area of interest that they would like to research, would like to record in a book or an exhibition to be displayed on the SS Nomadic then your groups should be involved.
