The Essentials: The Four Homelessness Tests

With more people presenting as homeless, advisers need to have a greater understanding of the homelessness tests applied by statutory agencies.  

On completion of this course, you will be able to help a client apply to the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) if they are homeless and understand how a client is assessed as homeless. This course will give you a stronger understanding or a revision of the tests and processes associated with becoming a Full Duty Applicant 

In 2-3hrs, you will understand: 

  • the process when someone presents as homeless, 

  • how to assess if a client is a Full Duty Applicant (FDA), in relation to the Housing (NI) Order 1988, 

  • the levels of duties owed by the NIHE. 

 

What you need to get started: 

  1. Access to a computer, laptop or mobile device 

  1. Internet access 

  1. Access to headphones for videos
